About the blog

casamarj photoMy name is Marjorie Hunt. I live in Los Angeles, California. I have also spent significant time living and traveling in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and Cuba. I started this blog to provide a more nuanced perspective on politics in the Americas, grounded in the historical realities of colonialism and imperialism in the region. I write about the intersections between U.S. and Latin American politics, exploring the ways U.S. policy connects to and affects Latin America.

  1. I told you I would stop by and check out your work. What you have here is pure gold. Keep up the good work pretty woman and keep spreading the message because you are doing a damn good job of it!

  2. This post makes me think of a book I read recently called &#rvs0;O2e8dres2ed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion” by Elizabeth L. Cline. The sentiment “Just because the dresses are $8 does not mean you have to buy them all!” is part and parcel to the greater problem of fast fashion and the negative effects it is having on the economy and ourselves. If you haven’t already read the book I highly recommend it. Great blog and I admire your drive!
